Farhan Akhtar Is Fighting A Lone Battle To Bring A Friend's Murderer To Justice! You Should Join In Too!

Farhan Akhtar

Farhan Akhtar recently took to his Facebook account to share a moving message about the Pallavi Purkayastha murder case. The murderer of the lawyer, Sajjad Mughal, is currently absconding, after he jumped parole.

For the uninitiated, Pallavi was a Mumbai-based lawyer who worked with Farhan Akhtar's production house, Excel Entertainment. She was murdered by her building's watchman, Sajjad Mughal, in 2012, who admitted to wanting to rape her and kill her when she resisted. In fact, it was only after this case that Farhan Akhtar started the ‘Men Against Rape and Discrimination’ (MARD) campaign in 2013.
And as tragic as it may sound, the murderer, Sajjad Mughal, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, recently jumped parole. Since then, questions are being raised on the lax system, and how someone on life imprisonment could be granted parole so easily. For now, the jail officer who had granted parole to Sajjad has been suspended.
Clearly disturbed at this development, Farhan Akhtar recently posted a moving message about the entire incident on his Facebook account. Especially considering the fact that Pallavi worked with Farhan's company, it seems like this case is close to his heart. Farhan even shared the picture of the accused seeking justice.
A recent picture of Sajjad Mughal. The man who murdered Pallavi and is now absconding after jumping parole.

The lackadaisical attitude of the officer in charge is inexcusable. Also I cannot understand how a man who is sentenced to life for murder gets parole so early into his sentence and is trusted to travel alone to J&K ..!!!!
What is this system?? Where is the justice??
