The Super Eagles of Nigeria stuns the world on Saturday as they trash the Desert Warriors of Algeria 3-1 in their 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Eagles’ technical adviser, Gernot Rohr started with a frontline that included in-form Chelsea winger, Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi of Arsenal, and Kelechi Iheanacho of Man-City.

Chelsea star, Victor Moses was booked for taking off his shirt in jubilation after a great strike in the 26th minute of the first half.

Shortly after, in the 40th minute, Nigeria got a second goal that deflated the Algerian team. Nigeria captain, Mikel Obi with a nice pass from Etebo and one-on-one with the goalkeeper after he had been clearly kept onside by Aissa Mandi, and he fired the Algerian goalkeeper amid a wave of protest from some Algeria players.

After a defensive error from the Nigerian defenders, the ball fell to the Leicester star, Bentalab close to the Nigerian box in the 67th minutes and he fired low, left footed strike that left Akpeyi helpless.

The Algerians had a penalty shout waved away in the 72 minute, and the referee only awarded a corner kick.

However, Moses has effectively sealed the victory as he stroked his second goal of the evening. Eagles with six points, now top with 4 points ahead Cameroon in World Cup qualification group B.

Second-placed Cameroon played a 1-1 draw against Zambia who have just 1 point, the same with Algeria.
